The first author's ballet theater in Russia has fully justified the idea of its founder - Eifman's productions are interesting for all ages, the troupe's performances are sold out, the choreographer is talked about not only in his native country, but also abroad, he is called "the magician of the stage".
Tickets to the Boris Eifman Theater are the magic of dance, the depth of the characters' feelings, which is conveyed in the author's choreography.
On May 10 and 11, the Eifman Theater will once again return to the stage of the Alexandrinsky, this time with the ballet "Crime and Punishment" based on the work of Fyodor Mikhailovich Dostoevsky. Once again, the tragic story of the poor student Rodya Raskolnikov, Sonechka Marmeladova, and other key characters of the classic work will unfold in dance before the eyes of the audience. No one has ever read Dostoevsky with the help of choreography with such depth as Eifman. This is some kind of endless fall into the abyss of the main characters' souls, who suffer, reveal themselves from new angles and facets.
From May 12 to 13 – the ballet "Anna Karenina" at the Alexandrinsky. This production has long been the hallmark of Eifman's theater, and when the premiere took place, everyone started talking about a new stage in the maestro's work, so bright, psychologically deep and tragic was the version of Leo Tolstoy's novel. "Karenina" continues to collect full houses for almost twenty years, because the production was first released in 2005. During this time, the ballet has toured a good half of the world, and no one has remained indifferent to this version of the legendary novel of the Russian classic. Passion led the main character to a crime against social norms, destroyed maternal love and ruined the inner world of Anna Karenina. Her son Seryozha is abandoned, her husband is betrayed, and Vronsky's evolution leaves the lover crushed and devastated. The timeless emotional content of the play and direct parallels with reality do not leave modern viewers indifferent, and therefore the play turned out to be completely relevant and does not require time explanations.
